KitchenAid K45SS Mixer Review
KitchenAid’s history of providing high-quality kitchen products began in 1919 when it introduced the first stand mixer. Housewives called it the best kitchen aid, and thus KitchenAid was born.
KitchenAid actually has 17 different types of stand mixers to choose from. The KitchenAid K45SS mixer belongs to the classic series with features that make it look like it was made for a professional. It has a tilt-head design, it comes with ten different speeds, its bowl is made of brushed stainless steel with a size of 4 ½ quarts, and is quite deep. The bowl also locks itself onto the base once in use. It is packaged with a “C” dough hook, a six-wire whip, and a nylon-coated flat beater. These can all easily be attached with just a simple twist. This mixer weighs 25 pounds, stands 14 inches high, and is 8 inches wide. The package includes a book with more than fifty recipes.
The KitchenAid K45SS has actually turned a lot of housewives into regular bakers after purchasing it. This stand mixer does a pretty good job of mixing, whipping, beating, and stirring almost everything. From bread dough, cookie dough, mashed potato, sausage stuffing, pizza dough, pasta dough, to even ice cream! It is also a pretty independent and efficient mixer in that one can leave it alone to do its job, without having to help scrape the sides of the bowl like with other mixers because the mixer’s scope includes ALL areas of the bowl. It also cuts total preparation time in half, so one has time for other cooking chores or even more baking!
Admittedly, the problem with the KitchenAid K45SS stand mixer is its weight – it is heavy for a standard mixer. So one should very well know where to place it because chances are, that is where it will stay for good. Other housewives also complain about the motor.
Well, if one intends to use this KitchenAid mixer model for commercial use, one would indeed have problems with the motor and should consider buying from KitchenAid’s professional series. But if it is just regular home cooking and baking that one intends to do, then this KitchenAid mixer is indeed the best kitchen aid. And every kitchen needs this brand of mixer.
