What exactly makes up a color?
plants are green because cholorplasts inside them are green; why are choloroplasts green?
the sky is blue because it’s a reflection of blue water; why is water blue?
rocks are greyish (genrally) because the sediments, minerals, and whatever else they’re made up of are grey, but why are those grey?

does an object of one color have a different chemical makeup than the same object of another color?

the water color is based on the minerals in it, infact the ski was a nasty green color because of the amount of iorn that was in the oceans before oxygen overpowered it. as for everything else color is truely just the light reflecting off a pigment all that exist are blue red and yellow the color is just a mix betwein these pigments, red and blue purple yellow red and blue brown ect.
