How can I tell if the citrus tree in my yard is a lemon or lime?
It has little, deep green fruits on it. Right now they are about the size of grapes and the color of a very green lime.
Lemons are green until the ripen. Send a sample of the leaves to your states University Extension their master gardeners can identify the tree by the leaf.
There should be no charge for this and they should be easy to find in the phone book.
The other thing you could do is google leaf identification and click on the link to images. It there is a clear distinction you’ll be able to see it.
Lastly, just wait and see if they stay green or not! I picked what I thought were limes and by the time I got home and opened my suitcase they were yellow. Freshest lemons I’d ever had!
