Use Digital Graphic Printing to Create Premium and Low-cost Restaurant Menus
No matter how good your food tastes and looks, expect it to get zero attention if your menu looks drab and dull. Put as much effort on your restaurant menu design as you give your food preparation and presentation. And to achieve pictures that do your food justice, result to digital graphic printing.
Digital printing offers a lot of good reasons why it’s the ideal option for restaurant menus.
1. Rich and vibrant pictures with four-color printing
• Digital printers make use of the cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK) color space. Different color, shades and hues are made by combining these four base colors in varying intensities. Resulting printouts have high definition images and readable texts.
• Before you can achieve pictures that match the colors of the images seen on your monitor, you have to convert the file from RGB (red, green and blue) format to CMYK. During the conversion, the closest equivalent in the CMYK color space is electronically selected to get the most accurate possible version of the image. This way, you get precise and vibrant images every single time.
2. Cost-effective short run orders
• This is probably one of the characteristics of digital printing that it is most known for. This method makes it possible for printing companies to offer printouts at a lower cost because in digital printing, a lot of the steps involved in traditional offset printing are removed. Hence, the set-up cost is cheaper so the price per unit is less in low volume print jobs.
• Since you’ll only need a few copies of your menu, digital printing is ideal for your short run order. You get good quality menus at a lower price.
3. Print Material of Your Choice
• The variety with which you can print your menu no varies. With digital printing, you can choose brochures printed on 100 lb. cover stock or catalogs for multiple number of pages.
• Blown up postcards to a standard 6 x 11 can also serve as a menu or sorts or as an insert in your menus.
4. Fast printing
• Digital printing has fast turnaround time. The shorter printing process may be attributed to the reduced set-up time. Steps eliminated include making films and plates.
• Once the design and layout of your menu are ready, it will be the least of your concerns. You can be assured that printing won’t cause any delay in the opening of your restaurant because short turnaround times are guaranteed with digital printing.
However, with all these good points, digital printing does have a disadvantage. Unnecessary creases due to handling or overuse can deteriorate the prints as digital prints’ inks can chip and fall of once folded. This can be avoided by placing protective coverings like plastic films on your menu. You can also fortify it by opting for a hardy UV coating that seals your prints while reinforces your prints sturdy body.
When you’re in the food business, you know that it’s not enough to make your culinary products just look edible. It has to look as palatable as possible, giving a little tickle to the senses. With digital graphic printing, you’ll surely entice the buds to have a taste of your palate-satisfying dishes.
