Anyone know of a NOT nonstick frying pan or electric skillet?
I am tired of these nonstick pans, skillets and cookie sheets basically being disposable after 3 or so years.
Right now, I have an electric skillet made by Presto which is only 3-4 years old and is horrible for cooking eggs in.
As for frying pans, I like cast iron and have quite a few, but sometimes, an aluminum or whatever type pan is better.
My problem is in finding something to buy.
So, who knows of something on the market which is not too expensive that is not nonstick in either the form of:
1) electric skillet,
2) frying pan,
3) cookie sheet etc (I don’t want the insulated kind unless you know that they work on things like french fries and fish stick etc)

I know what you mean with nonstick. No matter how careful you are..they don’t last. I found it also depends of the type of stove you have. I loved cooking with gas but it sure was hard on my cookware. Especially nonstick (often it became too hot…even on a small flame). I also stopped using nonstick sprays on nonstick pans. I read somewhere that they hang on to the finish and it will wear off easier. So far I found that to be a good tip.
I got a stainless steel cooking pot from my Mom to my wedding (14 years ago) and I used to hate it. But so far, it’s the only pot still close to its original form and shape. It’s not nonstick and I learned to love it. Nothing buckles, nothing chips. I can only recommend stainless steel. Maybe a bit more cleanup than nonstick, but I use vinegar and salt or once in awhile ajax to bring it back to its original shine.
I also have some pots that are hard anodized. They are more or less nonstick and so far I am happier with them than with regular nonstick. There are different finishes. So pay attention when shopping. Some claim you can use metal utensils without destroying the finish, but not all!
