Starbucks Coffee 24-pods Espresso Pods Espresso Pods, Decaffeinated $9.9 What is an espresso pod? A pod is a measured portion of ground espresso, compressed between two biodegradable filter paper sheets. By using an espresso maker specifically designed for use with pods, the pod allows anyone to make an excellent shot of espresso in no time. Pods are easy to use, convenient and mess free, providing a consistently delicious freshly brewed shot of espresso. Espresso pods are not compatible with single-serve pod coffee makers, such as Philips Senseo, Melitta One:One, Bunn My Café or Mr. Coffee HomeCafé. Starbucks espresso pods measure 54 mm across from the edge of the filter paper to the other. It is 43 mm across the section containing the coffee and 9 mm thick. The pods will fit in all espresso machines accepting E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) pods. Espresso Roast is used in most coffee drinks at our stores because of its delicious, smooth versatility. It has a dense, caramel-like sweetness with a soft acidity that’s delectable. An intense and balanced coffee, it’s roasted somewhat darker than traditional Italian espresso. Espresso Roast’s spicy aroma will permeate your kitchen and senses. Taste Espresso Roast as both a shot of espresso and brewed in a coffee press. This is one versatile coffee! This remarkable “signature” blend of Latin American and Indonesian coffees was developed in the late 1970′s after months of blending and tasting. The blend was chosen with a shot of espresso in mind. The Latin American component gives it soft acidity, the Indonesian imparts depth and some spicy aroma, and the slightly darker roast gives it a caramelly sweetness. All of these attributes are intensified when this blend is used to make espresso. Starbucks® Espresso Roast is quite different from most Italian versions of espresso. Ours is roasted somewhat darker than traditional Italian espresso and contains higher quality beans. Unlike many Italian-style coffee roasters, we do not add robusta beans to our Espresso Roast to help produce a highly prized crèma. Instead, we depend on the skills of our baristas to make the perfect shot of espresso. |

Espressione 150-ct. Coffee Pods, Espresso $61.95 Seven grams of coffee are compressed unto a practical filter package. The E.S.E. system (Easy Serving Espresso) is ideal for guaranteeing the level of quality of the product and is now a brand protected by the Italian “Consortium for Development” and the protective measures of the E.S.E trade standard. With E.S.E. the coffee is perfectly proportioned and sealed in food sale filter paper: it is no longer necessary to guess and try to gauge the exact quantity of ground coffee into the filter holder, nor to try to guess how best to compact the loose ground coffee portion; vital work area mess is avoided and the risk of using too much product, leading to finished product spoilage, is eliminated. |

Do you need an espresso machine to make espresso coffee or can I use a regular coffee machine?
I want to make this recipe [http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Abbeys-White-Chocolate-Latte/Detail.aspx], but I don’t own an espresso machine. If I absolutely need one, do you think I could just substitute the espresso with regular coffee instead..or would that ruin the latte?
Thanks for the help!
No, you cannot use a regular coffee machine to make espresso — it’s a different process. And it’s not a latte if it doesn’t contain espresso, so in that sense, yes, I suppose using regular coffee would ruin it. However, it won’t explode or anything, so if you want to go ahead and do it, it might taste okay anyway. But it won’t be a latte.
