No, there is no bill which outlaws home canning (although the agra business companies like Monsanto are indeed TRYING to pass such legislation).
What you are looking for is the HR 875 bill. That bill aims to make it illegal for you to GROW any of your own food. That bill will put small farmers like myself out of business, and make it illegal for you to grow a tomato plant, or an apple tree, on your own private property, for your own private use. If they make it illegal for you to grow any of your own food, they don’t care about home canning. The only food you will be able to purchase will be produced by major agra business companies.
The agra business companies are also going state by state and getting laws passed, which make it illegal to prevent the growing of genetically modified food (GMO’s) or to sue the major agra business companies should their GMO food contaminate non-GMO crops (which happens all the time). So far I believe they have the laws passed in 24 states.
Without a doubt the companies like Monsanto, Cargil, ConAgra, Dow, ect are putting a strangle hold on the nations food choices, and supply.
The only way for you as a private citizen to fight against these companies is with your wallet. Purchase as much of your food from small local farmers as possible. Grow as much as you can as well (even if that’s only one tomato plant). That includes your meat and dairy foods….purchase from the small local farmer. It’s the only way to stop these companies.
By the way, it’s President Clinton who signed in bills about food storage, just before 9/11. Under Federal law, you are only allowed a weeks worth of food storage. The Government gets to decide what a weeks worth is, not you. Anything over and above that is subject to be confiscated and redistributed in times of emergency. Your state laws may trump the Federal laws. If you live in Utah, or Idaho, you have laws friendly to home food storage. Keep your receipts for your food storage items. Those receipts PROVE that you purchased your food over the course of years, in times of plenty…that’s food storage. People who go out during an emergency/national crisis and purchase rafts of supplies are hoarding. Purchased in times of plenty is food storage, NOT hoarding.
