I have a 1998 Buick Century w/ a 3.1 liter engine. It keeps running hot at idle.?
The car will run at the proper temp. while driving but the temp. slowly rises when stopped at a light or in traffic. I did notice that the radiator cap was cool to the touch but the upper rad. hose was very hot. Would it be the water pump or thermostat?
The fan does come on after the car idles for a few minutes but the temp. continues to rise until you start driving down the road.
Engine cooling fan or blown head gasket.
