Simplest Well Water Filter ?

Hi
Whole house water filter for a deep well.
I would like to have two 5 micron pleated filters and two 2 micron carbon wrapped filters.
this would put a 5 micron and a 2 micron filter series and another 5 and 2 in series. I can have quality water filtration at 8 gpm with a minimum pressure drop.
Does this make sense ?
I do not want to use tank type filters.
maybe I didn’t write it correctly. split the pipe from the pump in two pipes into
5 micron filters first then 2 micron filters.

Nope, sorry, it does not make sense. Always start with the coarsest filters and work toward the finest micron size. I’d start with the low cost paper type filter to capture the largest particles, then a 5 micron pleat and then a 2 micron filter. You’ll switch them out in the same ratio with the paper filter being replaced three times for every 2 micron filter etc. I had this same type of issue with a deep well in PA and was not too impressed with the carbon filter. The pleated filters seem to be much more able to capture particulate and the carbon did not eliminate the egg smell. What I finally ended up doing was to have two canister filters in front of a very good water softener system that eliminated all the mineral and iron smell. I had a local rep come out and do a water test so he could design the system for exactly what I needed. It was a bit pricey but well worth it to have near perfect water. The nice thing about the canister type filters, (purchased at Lowes), is that it’s easy to experiment with different types as they’re all the same size and interchangeable. Good Luck
