I once saw a comedy bit about the hierarchy of celebrity TV ad endorsements (at the time the lowest of the low were celebrities hawking telephone calling cards). I would imagine that hawking Obama coins would set a new standard for the lowest level of celebrity endorsements.
I mentioned that comedy bit to my girlfriend when I saw the ad last week, the premise was that after the phone card ads, the celeb would never be seen on TV again, unless they managed to get a job hawking term life insurance to seniors. I expect that the next time we see Montel he will be selling funeral insurance on “TV Land” during their weekday morning line-up.
