My laptop power cord lights up when plugged into the wall, but will not charge computer?
This is so frustrating, I had to buy a new power cord less than a month ago because it was no longer working. The replacement cord has become faulty as well. If I plug it into the wall, the little light (led I think?) is lit showing that it is on and working. However when I put the other end into the computer it does not charge. What is the problem? It seems that the ac adapter itself is not broken because otherwise it would not be lighting up when I plug it in.
…Are you sure you don’t have a faulty battery. Usually it is the battery that gives out first. Find someone with the same type of cable somewhere and ask if you can see if it will charge your lappy. If it doesn’t charge then you have a bad battery. Replace it.
A simple test to see if the charger is working…remove the battery and leave the A/C adapter in.
If your computer still turns on…then it is definitely the battery. If replacing the battery doesn’t help to solve the problem, you have something worst in your hands. This is the time to get it repaired.
