Bodum 34-oz. Young Press Coffee Press, Black/Red $29.95 The Young Press was designed by the Bodum Design Group to develop a modern yet functional coffee press that delivers top quality coffee and can be used in a variety of environments. The durable frame is made of santoprene – a hard rubber like material. The windows are made of clear polycarbonate. Together, these two layers form a protective skin around the glass beaker that helps prevent breakage, making the Young Press an ideal press for home, office, boat, and even camping. The glass beaker can easily be removed for cleaning and placement in the dishwasher. For those who prefer to hand-wash their Young Press, they don’t need to worry as much about knocking the glass beaker against a metal sink. The Young Press’ frame also assists in keeping the coffee hot longer while insuring that the body of the press remains cool to the touch and is safe to set on most surfaces. Should the glass beaker break, it is easily replaced with the the standard Bodum 8-Cup Replacement Glass. The Young Press brews 1 litre/34oz. or 8 – 4oz. cups of coffee, ideal for serving 2 – 3 people. For best results, use coarse ground coffee. Just add the appropriate amount of ground coffee to the beaker (we recommend one 7 gram scoop per 4 oz. of water). Fill the beaker with hot water (just off of a boil). Leave about an inch from the top of the beaker. Give the coffee a stir with a plastic or wooden utensil to mix it completely with the water. Set the plunger and lid unit in place with the safety lid in the closed position. Allow the coffee to brew for 4-minutes and then press. Turn the safety lid to the open position, serve and enjoy. There is no paper or additional filter required. The 3-part stainless steel filter system is built right into the press. |

Bodum 8-Cup Stainless-Steel Thermal French Coffee Press Review
The coffee press shattered a couple of days ago. Whenever the espresso coffee machine is not in use (click here for our review of the Cuisinart EM-100 Espresso maker) or when we have got guests then we constantly use our french coffee press. Actually this is the 3rd one that has broken on us so we are looking for a more robust french press . The Bodum Columbia 8-Cup Stainless-Steel Thermal Press Pot certainly fits the bill!
Product Description
Perfect for the home or the workplace, this french coffee press coffeemaker doubles as an insulated thermos so coffee keeps hot and fresh for up to two hours. The pot keeps Thirty four ounces (1 liter), almost seven 5-ounce cups, and may be used for producing tea along with coffee. It’s made from stainless steel polished to a mirror-finish, includes a large, comfortable handle, and is dishwasher-safe. The lid seals in heat extremely well and turns to stop heat from getting away through the spout between cups. The pot stands 8-1/2 inches high, including the plunger top.

French Press coffee has one problem, if you do not deliver the complete pot whenever it is first brewed then it is likely to be cool. This pot can be a help. It’s not really ideal however it keeps the coffee warm or hot for some time. I fill it full of warm tap water beforeI make the coffee in it and subsequently the coffee remains hot for more time. I think it’s the best press that can be purchased at this price.
One other issue to be conscious of is when most of these coffee pots are rated for Ten-12 cups that they are generally some what fewer. The cups they’re talking about usually are four ounce cups. Such coffee pots create 4 typical mugs of coffee and not more. PS: It’s a good way to lower your coffee shop costs.
