I just installed windows xp pro over windows 98. but the color quality is very low and I can’t change it. In the drop down list there is no other option besides low. I also can’t change the screen resolution. What is the problem and what should I do about it?

It sounds like your video card is not plug & play friendly. This is very common, all you have to do is reinstall your video card software and you will be good to go. The hard part is finding the driver software CD or Disk that came with it or the computer. It is prolly best just to search the internet for your video card driver, download the latest version and run the setup. Fear not as this is an easy thing to fix
