Most water filters will not affect the pH of the water. You water pH will be the same before and after your filter. Carbon is the most common filter media and it will not change the pH of the water. You can buy pH test strips to check your pH or get an electronic meter to measure the pH of your water, You can also call your local water company and ask for the pH value. Most cities have their water quality reports on the Internet for viewing. Search with “your city name” and “water quality report” and the pH will be listed in the report.
