Rotisserie oven – comments?
My Mom is dead set on getting some kind of rotisserie oven for her ‘summer kitchen’ which will be outside in a breezeway. Currently under consideration are the Ronco, Hamilton Beach and the Food Network Rotisserie ovens. I know the food network one is also made by Hamilton Beach. Do you have any of these and could you comment on it?
The only thing I can really offer on this point is, whatever name brand you decide on, Just make sure that the rods are set Horizontally. I’ve seen some where the rods are vertical and it makes no sence at all. The point of a rotisserie is to be continually basting itsel as it turns. If the roda are vertical- up and down, the juices are only dripping from the part on top to the part on the bottom. Making the rotisserie function completely pointless. Vertically placed rods allow for the juices to baste the whole whatever you have in while the excess drips away.
