Juicer Vegetable – 3 Types Of Juicers To Consider

An adjustment to an individual’s diet to lean toward a raw food diet is by adding fresh vegetable and fruit juices.  The simplest way to accomplish this by “Juicing”.  This single act of adding fresh made-at-home juice to your daily intake will supply you with many beneficial live enzymes and antioxidants.  Fresh is best for you and your family.  Just remember the products for the most part, bought at the store are full of sugar, preservatives and chemicals.  Let’s look at the different types of juicing machines.

Citrus Juicer:  Most homes have a citrus juicer; they are a hand function or electric model where the halved fruit is pressed onto a stationary or rotating cone with ribs to crush the fruit into juice.    A lemon reamer is one type of these.  They are inexpensive and do a great job in a limited way.  The juice is fresh and normally has high pulp content.  This equates to an excellent juice.   An Omega VERT is a good example of this type of juicer.

Centrifugal Juice Extractors:  This type of machine works by a blade rotating to cut up the vegetables and then spinning the pulp at high speed to remove the juice.  Using this method to produce juice will give you the maximum amount of juice from vegetables.  A possible drawback is that spinning the pulp at a high speed will tend to heat up the product.   This can minimally reduce the nutritional value.  Please understand any drawback from this process is minuscule in comparing fresh juice at home to buying bottled from the store.  A positive note is the cost for these units is very reasonable.  An Omega 9000 is a great example of this style of juicer.

Masticating Juice Extractors:  The way this process is accomplished by grinding the vegetables then pressing them to extract the juice.  This is done by a slow mechanical process so the juice is not heated up.  This retains the nutritional value to the highest extent.  While this is the best machine and process as with most things in life it comes with a price.  These are normally the most expensive to buy.  However, the cost can be divided out to other jobs these machines can accomplish.  Make pasta, baby foods, sauces and even frozen desserts.  An Omega 8000 series is an exceptional example of this style of juicer.

Last Thoughts:   Check out the guarantee.  We always get what we pay for, so buying an inexpensive citrus juicer will give to you a great machine but with limited use.   The centrifugal extractor is in a great price range and will fit most budgets.  The masticating juicer are the most costly but can add a variety of abilities to the kitchen.    Enjoy juicing and a better and healthier life.
