Vintage Treasures Are Found In Thrift Stores

The popularity of eBay® is undeniable. Its quarterly earnings easily hit the 2 billion dollar mark. Indeed this auction marketplace remains to be a great spot for sellers and shoppers to meet and trade.

From forestry products to computer peripherals, to clothing, to dolls and toys, there are hot sellers in almost every genre imaginable. One category that is just as in demand is in the vintage department. Vintage lovers and collectors are on the hunt for authentic wares that are at least 40 years old. And what is amazing is that some of best vintage gems are found possibly in your own homes and thrift stores! What people perceive as junk is considered valuable to others. Isn’t that the beautiful part?

If you frequent thrift shops or even if you don’t but you are keen on vintage,  I think you will be interested in Thrift Store Goldmines, an ebook written by Brigitte Martinez. Brigitte is a long-time eBay®  seller specializing in vintage items found in thrift shops. Her successful trash-to-treasure business and experience has spilled off into a coaching service for people looking to setup themselves as sellers.

Her book is a fun and comprehensible guide on selling top vintage thrift finds on eBay® for good profits. It discloses a list of 29 best-selling category keywords that are actively searched by people. She has pictures of vintage labels to look for in thrift stores, a handy printable check-list to bring along each shopping trip,  tips and tricks which includes pricing and listing strategies. What’s more, free coaching via email is attached as a bonus with the book.

But bear in mind that thrifting can be all about timing. Sometimes you may spot something perfect but other times you may end up with nothing. But people are donating things on a daily basis so frequent visits to the store will be ideal to keep yourself updated with new “arrivals”.

Brigitte recommends looking for items that are not stained or chipped, unless maybe it’s a Chanel coat! She admits that there were times when the things she selected never sold, she noted them down and carried on experimenting with other items. In her book she lets readers know the things that continuously brought in sales every time they were listed. That is why she is confident to share it with others in her book.
