What do you call those things you place a plate of food on in a pan/pot to steam?
Hi. I no longer want to use a microwave and i was told about some thing you place in a pan/pot where you put a plate of food on to heat it up.
It elevates the plate so that water boils underneath it to warm up the food.
I just need the name of it so i can find it and buy it!

I think that you are talking about a stainless steel steamer basket that sits on the bottom of a pot, it sits on three or four legs and spreads out wing like plates based on pot size. It will sit on the bottom of your pot but above the water. It usually has a little central rod that would make it a little difficult to sit a plate on but the food can go directly on the steamer. Can usually be found at any kitchen store or big box store, usually hanging with the utensils. What I recommend for heating up food with steam would be a bamboo steamer, it has more than one tier and can sit over a pan of water and has its own lid.
